How to make Pumpkin Spice
Shawn Gavin October 07, 2023
Make your own pumpkin spice at home
There’s nothing quite like pumpkin spice to give those cozy fall vibes to your cooking and baking. And you won’t believe how easy it is to make it yourself!
Pumpkin spice has lots of variations, but we love this combination of cloves, allspice, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. You can use ground or whole spices, just grind the whole spices in a spice grinder before adding to the mix.
How do you use pumpkin spice
To use, add anywhere from 1/2 – 1 1/2 teaspoons to just about anything you can think of! Add it to your coffee grounds prior to brewing or sprinkle it on your foamed latte. Mix it into whipped cream or granola. Add a bit to roasted fall vegetables. And of course, be sure to include it in your pumpkin cookies and pies!
Pumpkin Spice Recipe
- 8 whole cloves
- 18 allspice berries
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
Place the whole spices in a spice grinder and pulverize till finely ground. Add to a small bowl with the rest of the spices and mix well.
Transfer to an airtight container and store at room temperature.
