Both Tahitian and Madagascar Vanilla Beans
Great products in vacuum sealed bags with clear instructions for making my own vanilla extract. The Tahitian beans were plump and smelled delicious. The Madagascar beans were numerous, more slender but just as fragrant. I will use some of these for baking and ice cream. The bottles are now fermenting in my pantry and I can’t wait to use it.
Gourmet Tahitian Vanilla
Have not used it yet, but it smells wonderful and feel so soft and fresh. Placed the beans in the freezer for when I need them.
Most excellent vanilla beans
A friend once brought the real Tahitian vanilla beans back from her Tahiti vacation and that is when I fell in love with those. The ones I got from the Slofood group are just exactly those, big, fat, plump and juicy. Wonderful. They are too special to make vanilla extract from them. I use them in coffee, tea, foods. My favorite is to cut a piece off, open it up and scrape the seeds into the coffee cup, then put the piece of bean in too and some milk. This is a heavenly way to have vanilla coffee, the real deal. Those beans are special!
The original French Vanilla
These beans are beautiful ~ long, plump and moist. The original French Vanilla extract recipe calls for 4 parts Madagascar Planifolia beans + 1 part French Polynesian (Tahitian) Tahitensis beans. These beans add the exotic sweet flavor to vanilla extracts.
Beautiful Beans from Tahiti
Slofoodgroup had the best price on beans from Tahiti so I had to purchase them and they were beautiful. Long, plump and oily! This is one of the most fragrant beans I have purchased. I can't wait until they are done extracting! I did purchase enough to make some paste too so I can use that until my extract is complete!
