Maple Saffron Simple Syrup
Simple Syrup with Saffron and Maple will Elevate Your Craft Cocktail
When it comes to elevating craft cocktails, having an assortment of aromatic and unique flavor-infused simple syrups on hand is essential! Our new favorite is one we put together for our Kesar Doodh martini. Kesar Doodh is an Indian beverage made of saffron, sweetener, milk, and some more chewable ingredients like almonds and dried fruits. It is often consumed at special events and festivals and is adored for a host of health benefits.
For our Kesar Doodh Martini, we wanted to avoid the crunch but still incorporate the same flavor combinations, so we utilized Almond Liqueur instead of almonds, and speared dried fruits onto a tooth pick to use as a garnish. The most important part of our drink was the maple saffron simple syrup, though. We mixed together 1 ½ ounces of the simple syrup, 2 ounces of vodka,1 ounce of almond liqueur, and 1 ½ ounce of milk together in a shaker and poured it in a chilled martini glass.
We’ve also used this simple syrup in an array of other craft cocktails (yuzu saffron margarita, saffron old fashioned) and continue to let it inspire our creations! Check out the recipe below and let us know how you let this simple syrup inspire your craft cocktail adventures.
