Chili Martini
Gin and Vermouth Chili Martini
Martini is a cocktail made with gin or vodka and vermouth. It is usually garnished with olives, lemon twists, or pickled pearl onions. The origins of this cocktail are uncertain but it is believed to have evolved simultaneously in several locations around America’s east coast during the 19th century.
Although Martini cocktails require very few ingredients, they sparked a lot of competition in order to find the golden ratio of gin to vermouth. Either way, we like to keep it simple and spice it up. We maintain a ratio of 2:1 gin to vermouth and we like to garnish it with lemon twists, as it naturally pairs the botanicals in the alcohol. We also love a touch of spice and a splash of juice to make this cocktail even more enjoyable.

- 4 ounces cherry juice
- 1 cup ice
- 2 lemon or lime twists*

-
Prepare 2 martini cocktail glasses. Strain the liquid equally into the two glasses and garnish with lemon twists.

Note:
*To make a lemon twist, cut a slice of lemon and remove the fruit pulp off the peel. Using a pairing knife, cut by half the white part of the peel. Twist the peel around the finger (or chopstick). Using the warmth of your hands, shape the lemon twist to a curly-q shape.
